Human Behaviour ~ Community Dance
Description
A monthly coming together & coming back to our bodies, as we question prevailing narratives around movement & dance, and surrender to the healing power of experiencing music as a collective ꩜
Human Behaviour is an ever-evolving amalgamation of practices, and an experiment in developing healthy group ritual which much of mainstream society has been deprived of. Co-facilitated seasonal storytelling, group sharing & noise-making connects us before we enter into 60 mins of music absorption and free-form expression, closed with another sharing circle. Playlists are crafted by each other & for each other, exploring a wide range of sounds. Let loose or go internal with the ebbs & flows of the sonic journey ~ we explore freeform movement together, this is not a structured dance class!
Our gatherings have seen tears shed, smiles lit up, bodies flailing, as well as bodies relaxing on couches and simply listening.
We are curious about shaping alternate paths forward, through composting rage & grief, whilst also allowing glimmers of joy to shine ~ it has been known forever by healthy cultures that communal sound-making & movement is essential in this process… “Ecstatic dance” wasn’t invented in the new-age scene. We are passionate about supporting each other in stepping into our power, nurturing our creative gifts, and creating strong bonds with each other, the seasons & the Land with which we live.

Human Behaviour through others' eyes:
"Human Behaviour has been such a welcome space in my week. It’s facilitated by Ace with a rare mix of warmth and steadiness, creating an environment that feels both freeing and safely held at the same time. The opening meditation helps you land in yourself before the movement begins, which makes the dance feel truly embodied. It’s a wholesome, grounding space where you can move without pressure, connect without performance, and just be. I’m grateful to have found somewhere that reminded me how much I love to dance and be with others" ~ Sarah
“How I feel is welcome.
How I am is welcome.
This is a space for creativity, freedom and sacredness.”
