Humans for Good EOY Potluck 🥘
Event description
Join the Humans For Good community for a night of good food, good conversations, and good humans.
Our potlucks are here to provide a casual, inclusive and cosy space to explore different global issues and how we can all be working together to do a little more good for people and the planet. They are an opportunity to connect with likeminded humans in the way we have for thousands of years: over a home-cooked meal.
At each event, we like to host conversations around a couple of big topics. The night begins with chats over dinner, and ends with a time for storytelling by members of Humans For Good.
For our last potluck of 2024, we'll be doing things a little differently and hosting a series of 'lighting talks' around a wide range of social impact topics ⚡ Aka. 20-ish members will each have 3 - 5 minutes to each share about a cause that is close to their heart (from mental health, to diversity, to social enterprises, to climate change).
Anyone is welcome to join us, and if you'd like to share a story, a learning or an opinion around a social impact topic on the night, please fill out this lil form!
A few more details
📍 The potlucks take place at a NY style loft at 19-23 Wellington Street, Chippendale, Sydney. There is some parking on the street, and it is a 10 minute walk from both Central and Redfern train stations. Any issues with finding the location, give Mivin a call on 0536 300 022
🥘 Please make sure to bring a dish to share, or a drink or snack! (and make sure to label for any allergies and intolerances plz 🙏). As this is a community event where people bring dishes of different kinds, ensure that you are assessing what you can and cannot eat 🙂
🎟️ Tickets are a sliding scale contribution between $10 – $15, to help us cover renting the space, some drinks and food at the event, and also our ongoing costs so that we can sustain and grow the Humans For Good community
🦟 Humans For Good is currently focused on supporting the Against Malaria Foundation (check out our fundraising page here and further info about their extremely effective and impactful work here), which is a top-rated charity that protects people from malaria by distributing and ensuring the use of long-lasting insecticidal bednets in regions with the highest burden of malaria cases. Malaria kills around 600,000 people each year, the majority of whom are children under 5. Each net costs about $2USD, lasts for 3 to 4 years, and protects on average two people.
Meet our sponsor for the night, PollenOne
PollenOne believes in people who want to bring about a better future, and is the world's first government funding marketplace. It's a community-driven platform that connects funders, funding applicants, and consultants.
The PollenOne team have uncovered over $3 trillion AUD in funding opportunities to help you get the funding you need and are on a mission to make this accessible to everyone. But it is not always obvious or easy to find these opportunities, understand whether they are right for you, or feel confident that applying is worthwhile.
PollenOne is putting this money into the hands of innovative people and projects, by making government funding more accessible, transparent, and collaborative than ever before. Right now they are building out our new platform and are welcoming those looking for funding for their clients or for themselves to be part of their early access preview.
If that sounds like you, they’d love to talk.

That's all folks! We hope to celebrate an impactful 2024 with you soon 🥳
