Humans for Good EOY Potluck đ„
Event description
Humans For Good is running one more potluck for 2023 and you're invited.
In addition to a dinner and fireside chats with social impact legends, we'll have a DJ, short meditation, and a reflection exercise to wrap up the year that was, led by Matt Heath from Purpose Ready.Â
Anyone with an interest in and passion for social impact welcome! Please grab your ticket ASAP as we have limited space at the venue đ
What and why potlucks?Â
These events are an opportunity to connect with likeminded humans in the way we have for thousands of years: over a home-cooked meal. They're here to provide a casual, inclusive and cosy space to explore different global issues and how we can all be working together to do a little more good for people and the planet.
Rather than a networking event, each potluck is an experience that is co-created by the community, for the community. Whether you bring a meal, share your story, or help us keep things running smoothly, everyone contributes something toward making the night memorable and impactful.Â
The night begins with chats over dinner, and ends with a time for storytelling by guest speakers from Humans For Good.Â
A few more details âÂ
đ The potlucks take place at a NY style loft at 19-23 Wellington Street, Chippendale, Sydney (any issues with finding the location, call Mitch on 0439 065 440, or Yoash on 0410 390 176)
đ„  If you can, bring a dish to share! (make sure to label for allergies plz đ)
đïžÂ  Tickets are $10 each to help us cover renting the space and some drinks at the event! We don't want this to stop you from coming though, so there is an option to pay as you feel or opt out if that doesn't work for youÂ
đ  It's a difficult time for many at the moment, so we'll be raising funds for Beyond Blue at the potluck. Please feel free to donate directly here, or via the event page!Â
Who will be sharing their story? Â
After dinner, we'll be having fireside chats with two good humans and social impact leaders in our community:
Manisha is currently the Community Director for Effective Altruism Sydney. She's spent 10+ years working in marketing and commercial strategy, and is excited to use her skills gained from the UK and Australian corporate sectors as a force for good. Manisha is passionate about empowering people to improve the world and will be sharing how we can all maximising our impact through our financial giving.Â
Through his management consulting, angel investing and community-building career, Reynolds is building toward systems change of our misaligned healthcare and economic system - connecting the dots between East and West (from ancient wisdom to cutting-edge technology). He believes that doing our part and taking pragmatic actions toward 'planetary health,' all starts with changing the self. Reynolds will be speaking to how we as humans can live in harmony with nature, at a personal level, community level, and global/future level.Â

We hope to see a few of your faces on the 5th đ
