Join us for a special Harmony Week event, where instead of books, you “borrow” people for a conversation.

This Humans of the Northern Beaches Living Library event is a unique storytelling project that celebrates our shared human experience. Our 'books' are community members with personal stories of overcoming adversity and finding belonging. As 'readers', you can 'borrow' and have a conversation with them.

Come listen and connect with diverse community members from the Northern Beaches. Some of the stories you will hear are about:

turning adversity into strength
experiences with racism
migration, divorce, and finding yourself
being different on the Northern Beaches

Where and when

The Living Library will be held on Saturday 22 March 1.30-3.30pm at Mona Vale Library.

How does the Living Library work?

The event is structured in 30 minute sessions: 25-minute conversations where you can 'borrow' a person to chat about their story, and 10 minutes break in-between. You can 'borrow' and speak to different people during the event.

The Living Library is a project created by Northern Beaches locals from diverse backgrounds as part of the We Belong: Intercultural Community Leaders Program, bringing our many cultures, perspectives and traditions to life.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government through the NSW Social Cohesion Grants for Local Government
