In the glorious setting of The Queanbeyan Hive's sunny backyard garden this Sunday afternoon session is not to be missed.

Humbug (ACT)

Humbug has been one of Canberra‘s best known and most accomplished Celtic bands for many years.

It is now a trio featuring Simone Dawson on vocals, flute and whistles, Rachel Antone on vocals and percussion and Mal Bennett on vocals and guitar.

With 5 popular CDs to its credit and countless performances at festivals near and far (including a number at the National Folk Festival), it's lush 3 part harmonies and imaginative instrumental backing, the band is playing and singing better than ever.

Their vast repertoire of well and lesser known Celtic songs, range from poignant Irish and Scottish ballads to rousing, toe tapping songs and lively tunes.

David O'Neill & Jo Creswell (Proudly Qbn)

Passion and virtuosity in an exciting fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds that will change the way you think about the music of the Celts.
Dave O’Neill
(guitar, fiddle and mandolin) combines with Jo Cresswell (concertina and piano) to thrill audiences with their own special concoction of musical magic.

Dave O’Neill is widely acclaimed as one of Australia’s finest multi-instrumentalists. As a pivotal member of Eric Bogle’s band, he has thrilled audiences all over Australia and the USA. Dave has an impressive list of recordings to his credit and is in much demand as a session musician and teacher.

Jo Cresswell has established a national reputation as a concertina player and innovative interpreter of Irish music. She is well known from line-ups with Lachlan Green, Sarah Davies, Ruth Lee Martin, Rita Woolhouse.

Together they create a musical experience which captures the passion, poetry and power of the Celtic tradition, spiced with flavourings of French music and jazz.
