HUNAR SYMPOSIA PUBLIC PROGRAM

Across the world different forms of experimenting and producing art have been employed in order to account for conflicts in the present, in several cases blurring the borders of its own artistic field to do so.

Partnering with Hunar symposia, we seek to foreground the importance of creative work in producing imaginative, humorous, provocative, and unpredictable responses to conflicts both past and present. In this context, we challenge researchers and artists from around the globe to share their investigations, experiences, and practices to build with us an international and interdisciplinary dialogue about creative forms of resistance in landscapes of conflict.

We hope to take the conversation beyond the exhibition space (where it remains marginalised) into our interpersonal and intimate spaces.

Join us on Saturday, December 3rd for two immersive, experiential workshops:

10am - ekphrastic poetry writing workshop

Using a piece of art from curated exhibition as a muse, join Priyanka as we deep dive into confronting art with poetic and literary devices, to write your very own ekphrastic poem.

Listen with your mind and feel with your heart as Adrian Mouhajer speaks poetry on queerness, love, desire, family and cultural connection.

11.30-12.30pm lunch courtesy of Parliament on King

12.30pm - life drawing workshop with Tajmider

Hone in your observation skills, your appreciation for human anatomy and simple, mindful art as you're guided through a series of poses and conjure up some creative magic.
