Hunter Nexus
Event description
Business Hunter in partnership with the University of Newcastle, is pleased to announce the final Hunter Nexus Gala dinner of 2023 'A lifetime saving lives – Farewell toast and roast'.
As CEO of the Westpac Rescue helicopter service for 27 years, Richard Jones OAM learned a thing or two about singing for his supper.
Determined to increase its incredible impact, Richard grew support for the business from $3.5 million to $40 million per annum, of which $12 million is now raised through sponsorships, volunteers, support group activities, events and community partnerships.
Countless members of our community have been touched, and saved as a result, earning Richard the highly esteemed Business Hunter President’s Award this year.
“For regional and isolated rural communities, prompt aeromedical transport to major trauma centres and specialist facilities is vital to saving lives and our state of the art aircraft, professional aircrews and highly skilled medical teams allow us to do this for those most in need.”
“Community is what this service is all about, and at the heart of the community is our volunteer network. They give their time to support the service knowing that a little from a lot can go a long way to saving local lives and I can’t thank them enough for the work they do and their contribution to our efforts.
With decades of wisdom at the top of one of the Hunter’s / Northern NSW most prolific charities under his belt, Richard will share lessons learned, secrets of success, and undoubtedly a laugh or two.
Join us for an evening exploring charitable giving, community connection and a farewell toast and light-hearted roast of a local legend, Richard Jones OAM.
In collaboration with our platinum sponsor, NGM Group and gold partner, Newcastle Herald.
