Alumni Gifting Day event in Newcastle

Join us for our first alumni get-together for 2022. Reconnect, make connections, and hear about the wonderful work being done in our region.

This year the University of Newcastle is launching its inaugural Gifting Day on the 9th of March 2022. A dedicated day of fun and fundraising, this social impact initiative will bring our community together to drive important change.

HunterWiSE is one of the nine priority initiatives being championed through Gifting Day. Research shows that over the course of high school, female students in Australia come to believe that careers in STEM are not for them. HunterWiSE, developed at the University of Newcastle, aims to shift these beliefs, using a unique and effective mentoring model to inspire and foster confidence in young women.

Our panel of passionate STEM professionals will share the pivotal moments that led them to a career in STEM.
