HURRICANE RELIEF FUNDRAISER for Oaxaca, MEXICO 

MAY 30th, Hurricane Agatha (category 2) hit the Oaxacan Coast of Mexico. The strongest hurricane there since 1949. Reaching peak winds of 175 km/hr.

Severe winds and rainfall triggered flash floods and mudslides, resulting in the loss of at least 20 lives and the destruction of many homes, roads, schools, and businesses. Oaxaca is one of the poorest states in Mexico, where conditions have long been dire for many families. The pandemic brought further hardships. And in the wake of the hurricane, many have lost not only their houses but all their belongings. They are in immediate need of food, water, housing, and medical supplies.

A community fundraiser to raise much needed funds, sharing together sacred music (kirtan and medicine music), prayers and prasad.

• Sunday 3rd July
• At Sattva Sanctuary ~ Burringbar ~ Bundjalung Country (limited parking on premise, street parking possible, car-pooling encouraged)
• 3pm start to 5.30pm (3pm cacao ceremony starts, please enter yurt temple in silence)
• featuring 4 sets of local (and international) Bhakti Musicians sharing both Kirtan and medicine music.

• Event will conclude with a light dinner and sweets (vegan, GF) included with ticket purchase
• Previous kirtan/mantra experience not necessary.
• ONLY online ticket sales, limited spaces available.

All profits go to HRIDAYA YOGA FUNDRAISER CAMPAIGN 

• 75% will go towards supporting the people of OAXACA, Mexico.
• 25% will go towards supporting the recovery of the Hridaya Yoga Centre

Hridaya Yoga has operated their centre in Oaxaca for over 10 years, and feels a strong commitment to the local people there. They are running a worldwide campaign to raise $150,000 USD for hurricane relief within two weeks. Help us bring immediate, tangible benefits to the people in these communities, covering food, basic necessities, and construction supplies. A donation of just $1 USD can feed a family for a day.
