Description
Welcome to the first Hurstbridge & Surrounds Dance & Movement Festival!
Whether you see this weekend as a one-off experience to treat to yourself, a fun experience to share with friends or an opportunity to discover your next big dance and movement adventure, this is for you!
Hursty Dance Club, EDN dance company, Zumba with Zoe, Hurstbridge Pilates & Yoga, No Lights No Lycra Hurstbridge, Cherry Pole Studio and Wu Tao instructor Jan Turner have joined forces to provide you with an extraordinary line up of dance and movement classes and events for you to experience. Challenge your brain, re-discover what your body can do and enjoy the happy endorphins that accompanies dance and movement.
The weekend pass offers amazing value, at just $60, you can attend as many sessions as you can manage! The festival includes 10 adult dance classes, 4 children’s dance classes, one adult’s only pop-up nightclub with professional DJ, and one family friendly disco. The weekend pass covers one adult and two children, or you can purchase entry to individual sessions and events.
This festival is your opportunity to move your body and try something new, connect with your local community, and enjoy a weekend dancing with (old and new) friends and family. All sessions are suited to beginners and everybody is welcome in our safe and inclusive dance space, including experienced dancers (please show us what’s possible with ongoing practice)!
The hall will remain open between sessions, so make a day of it! There will be tables and chairs set up with some chill music vibes in-between classes, so grab some food or drinks from one of the many cafes and restaurants on offer in Hurstbridge, or practice your moves while we re-set for the next class (tea, coffee and biscuits will be available from the kitchen too).
Saturday night is your chance to cut loose on the dance floor, test out the dances you learnt during the day and just have a boogie to party tunes at Hursty Dance Club (pop up nightclub with professional DJ). This will be a BYO alcohol and food event, we'll provide the good vibes and DJ!
And parents can enjoy a guilt free Saturday night, knowing that it's their kids turn to have some dance fun on Sunday afternoon!
Hang out with friends, or make some new ones. Dance creates communities, so please come along and be part of it!

- Can I bring children to the adult classes?
There will be a small area with some books and toys in the main hall, where children can play while you dance. Children remain your responsibility at all time, and must be accompanied if using the toilet or entering the foyer.
If your children are very young or prone to wandering this might not be a good option for you, however they are also welcome to be near you if you dance at the back of the group and it doesn't impact on others enjoyment of the class. If you have an older child who will be participating in the class, please purchase an entry for them too. (Unless they are covered by your weekend pass).
- Can my children attend a kids class if they are older or younger than the ages stated?
To get the optimum experience it is preferred that children stick to the class ages as described. However if you can't make the time slot that matches your child's age, please book the spot you need and just be mindful that your child may not be as challenged, or as capable as they would be in their own age group. If you are happy that they simply have an opportunity to experience a dance class, that's fine by us.
If you have siblings who want to dance together, choose the session that you think will work for their ages. Please note that there will be a simple play are where kids can hang out while waiting for siblings to take their class too.
