Description

Lotus Blooms - local sex shop in Alexandria- is teaming up with Crush Dance Bar DC to offer you the last workshop in our 2026 series of sexy yet educational events!

Hurts So Good: Intro to Bedroom Kink. Each tickets gives you access to the class and a free drink!

Ever wondered what a flogger actually feels like? Wanted to ask for a spanking but didn’t know the words? Thought about kink but felt like everyone else already knew the rules? Good news: nobody’s born knowing this stuff. Let’s learn it together.

This is a Kink 101 lowdown for every body and every kind of sex. Queer, trans, gay, curious, partnered, single, or just here to see what the fuss is about. Zero experience needed. Zero judgment, guaranteed.

First, we will talk about tease & sensation play Blindfolds. Ice cubes. Hot wax. Silk, fur, and leather. We’ll show you how to play with sight, touch, taste, scent, and sound to make sex feel brand new. Then, we turn it up. Spanking, paddles, floggers, and canes! Learn the difference between a thud and a sting, where to strike (and where never to), how to build intensity, and exactly how to ask for what you want.

And we keep it hot by keeping it smart. Consent, communication before, during, and after, and reading your partner’s body (and your own) are what make kink actually work. Love a little pain? Great. Not your thing? Also great. Your rules, your recipe.

Led by Sex Educator Jax, this class is hands-on, so come ready to touch, test, and try the tools. You’ll leave knowing how to:

  • Talk kink with confidence using the basic vocabulary

  • Learn how to awaken all five senses to level up your play

  • Explore tools and identify everyday objects you can turn into sensation toys

  • Understand anatomy, impact technique, and intensity control

Curious? That’s all it takes. Grab a spot before they’re gone!

What to expect from this workshop:
This is an educational and experiential class, but it is not a sexual class. Folks will have the opportunity to touch impact toys and sensation play products. The focus of the content will be on learning about how to incorporate these into bedroom play. We will not be discussing how to engage in the kink scene or how to navigate public play spaces or dungeons. That's a topic for another day!

Participants will be able to opt in and out of any exercises or offerings.

Who is this workshop for:
For anyone kink-curious! No previous experience with kink required, but curiosity is a must, because enthusiastic interest is the foundation of consensual and pleasurable play. That makes it a class requirement!

You may attend solo or bring your partner, triad, date, or friend! Workshop tickets are sold individually, and each person attending will need a ticket. Our workshops are not play spaces, nor are they meetups. If you are looking for local groups that host such events, we are happy to recommend them!

The Fine Print: Lotus Blooms’ workshops are open to people of all genders and sexual orientations, individuals, couples, or groups. Due to state law, attendees must be over 18 to come to the workshops or shop in the store.

If you are running late:
Because the topics of sex, sexuality, intimacy, etc are so personal and often taboo in our society, our staff and educators work very hard to create events that make people feel comfortable learning and sharing. Much of the working agreements and standards of behavior tend to take place at the beginning of our short workshops. As such, if you arrive more than 15 minutes after the workshop is scheduled to begin, we will not be able to allow you to join this time around and your tickets will be forfeited. We hope that this helps to encourage people to come on time and enjoy the entirety of the event, and create a comfortable space for everyone attending!
