    Event description

Noriko Tadano is an award-winning shamisen virtuoso and traditional Japanese vocalist who has appeared at festivals and concert halls worldwide. She blends traditional music and frenetic rhythms in a captivating alchemy of modern and ancient, fusing rock, jazz, and blues to create a dynamic sound world with groove.

Sandy Evans is an internationally revered jazz saxophonist, composer, and improviser. Her boundless imagination, passion for new music, and soulful creativity have earned Sandy countless ARIA and APRA awards and influenced generations of improvising artists Australia-wide.

For Hyphenated Sounds, Sandy and Noriko fuse their musical worlds for one electrifying performance as part of SIMA’s Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival.
