Event description

Join us for a creative art making workshop workshop run alongside the Hysterical Legacies exhibition.

The workshop is a chance for those who like to create with others, would like some guidance or simply want to meet fellow chronically ill, Disabled or neurodivergent creatives, to make an artwork in person.

Paint, draw or collage and explore what the theme of 'Hysterical Legacies' means to you.

Your artwork can then be included in the exhibition, or you can take it home on the day - it's up to you!

The workshop will be held at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre in a fully accessible space and will be led by Hysterical Legacies curator Amelia Saward - a Naarm/Melbourne based chronically ill curator, artist, writer and arts worker.

DETAILS:

Date: Sunday 12th October

Time: 11.30am - 2.00pm

Location: Queen Victoria Women’s Centre (QVWC)

Accessibility: Birnbeal Gallery Queen Victoria Women's Centre is a fully accessible venue, including accessible bathrooms.

Visitors with mobility aids are advised to take the ramp on the left-hand side of the Lonsdale St entrance along Shilling Lane, which will direct you to the automated doors at the rear of QVWC.

Alternatively, if accessing the centre from the QV Courtyard, use the platform lift, proximate to the QVWC SHOP, to access the rear automated doors.

There will be a quiet space available on the day, as well as seating available.

The event can be Auslan interpreted upon request - please provide at least two business days notice for this to be facilitated (by Wednesday 8th October).
