Event description

Join Arab Theatre Studio for an evening of refuge and resistance on Gadigal Wangal Land as we immerse ourselves in the power and healing of poetry for Sudan and Palestine. 

Lorna Munro, Jazz Money, Sara Saleh, Nyaluak Leth, Hazem Shammas, Hassan Izeldin, Hasib Hourani, Yasir el Gamil, Majdi Jelda, Seraj Jelda, Yasmin Ibrahim and Katie Shammas will be sharing original work as well as poems and music from their homelands. 

“I Grant You Refuge” is the title of a poem by Hiba Abu Nada. She wrote the poem on 10 October 2023 in Gaza and was then killed by Israeli Occupation Forces on the 20 October. 

All ticket sales will be donated to these two organisations supporting families from Gaza and Sudan -https://para.org.au/ and http://www.sampa.org.au/
