The Small SHIFT presents I Will Survive - stories of resilience and adversity, of insurmountable challenges, of recovery and re-invention. These aren’t professional speakers. These are your neighbours, your friends, your fellow community members.

Mandy Nolan, host and curator of the event believes ‘This event is about showcasing what I believe is true bravery. Heroes aren’t always the people who rescue us from burning buildings, or climb Mount Everest. Sometimes a hero is a Mum who found the courage to leave and escape domestic violence, or a woman who fought for equal footing in a male dominated industry. I love hearing these stories, because they tell us that yes we can. These are the messages that transform lives.’

I Will Survive invites 6 women across 6 generations from  their 20’s to their 70’s, to tell a 6 minute  story from a time in their lives where they faced adversity and pushed through. These stories teach us that if we persist we can break through, and that ordinary people sometimes have extraordinary stories to tell.
