    Event description

Join the conversation. Learn from community. Strengthen your allyship.

May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against LGBTIQA+ Discrimination) - and this year you're invited to join the team at Queer Town for a morning of education and conversation.

Whether you're new to the topic of LGBTIQA+ inclusion, or you're a seasoned ally, we encourage you to come along and demonstrate your commitment to ending discrimination towards the LGBTIQA+ community.

Hosted by Queer Town's founder and director, Archie Beetle, the event will consist of:

    - Education & Storytelling:

Archie will lead an engaging presentation, exploring the significance of IDAHOBIT, as well as sharing their own personal experiences as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community leading a grassroots queer organisation. Learn practical strategies for allyship that you can apply to both your professional and personal life.

    - Interactive Q&A:

Bring your questions! Engage in meaningful conversations during our interactive Q&A session and gain new perspectives on LGBTIQA+ experiences.

    - Networking & Connection:

Connect with like-minded individuals, professionals and advocates in a friendly and inclusive environment. Learn more about Queer Town's impactful initiatives and discover ways to contribute to the meaningful work we do.

    - Morning Tea:

Caffeine and catering? We've got you sorted. Enjoy a spread of locally sourced drinks and nibbles throughout the event.

By attending Queer Town's Celebration of Community and Allyship, not only are you adding your support to the movement against LGBTIQA+ discrimination, you're also directly supporting the growth of a queer-led, Australian-based, grassroots organisation that's investing back into the local LGBTIQA+ community.

We hope to see you there!

We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of the land on which the event is taking place, the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Peoples of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge that it always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
