#IDanceLikeU - We dance like U ’cause we love U!

Join #IDanceLikeU in the 2026 Village Halloween Parade and become part of a spontaneous, roving dance experience that turns parade watchers into the stars.

Here’s how it works:

We spot someone in the crowd who’s moving, dancing or playing along - and suddenly, our whole group starts mirroring their moves.

At first, they may not realize what’s happening.

Then comes the moment when they figure it out:

We’re dancing like THEM.

They start experimenting. We follow. They lead. We dance. The people around them laugh, join in and want a turn.

For a few minutes, someone who came to watch the parade becomes the choreographer.

That’s #IDanceLikeU.

No dance experience required. Our group includes dancers and enthusiastic non-dancers from the community. If you can copy someone’s moves and have fun doing it, you can participate.

Because #IDanceLikeU is communicated through movement, it also works beautifully across ages, cultures and languages.

One of our mottos says it best:

“I Dance Like U Means I Love You!”

Village Halloween Parade 2026

$15 participant contribution

Your contribution includes your #IDanceLikeU T-shirt rental and helps cover the costs of bringing the project to the parade. Shirts will be collected afterward, washed and reused at future #IDanceLikeU events.

We’ll organize the group, coordinate our parade participation and share more details with participants before the event.

Over the past 10 years, #IDanceLikeU has appeared at events including Dance Parade, the Mermaid Parade, Riverdale Riverfest, Gratitude Migration, the Village Halloween Parade, 2050 House at Sundance Film Festival and London Experience Week’s closing party.

Some people love jumping right into #IDanceLikeU. Others love watching it unfold.

Either way, it tends to spread a lot of joy.
