Event description

Join us at UNSW Library for Ideas Exchange: Circular Economy, a panel discussion exploring how different disciplines are challenging traditional notions of material design, production, and waste. The circular economy is based on the idea that products—from food and clothing to electronics—can be kept in use for as long as possible, minimising landfill and conserving natural resources.

This Ideas Exchange brings together UNSW researchers from chemical engineering, fashion, and industrial design to share their experiences, challenges, and contributions towards advancing the circular economy.

This event is free, everyone is welcome.

Panellist:

Mr Gonzalo Portas, Associate Lecturer in Industrial Design at the School of Built Environment.

Professor Alison Gwilt, Professor of Design at the School of Art & Design.

Professor Yansong Shen, Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering.

The discussion will be chaired by Dr Rumana Hossain from UNSW Centre for Sustainable Materials Research & Technology (SMaRT).

This event is part of Materials Revolution, an exhibition showcasing UNSW SMaRT Centre’s transformative material science research.

If you require any adjustments to participate, please contact LIB.Exhibitions@unsw.edu.au prior to the event.
