Event description

The Sound of Anticipation - Building Effective and Musical Transitions

Transitions can make or break the flow of a track. In this master class, you’ll learn how to create seamless, professional transitions that keep your listeners engaged from start to finish. We’ll explore practical techniques such as using automation to filter frequencies, adding risers and sweeps, playing with silence, and controlling dynamics to shape energy between sections. You’ll also discover how contrast, FX layering, and arrangement choices can build anticipation and impact. Whether you’re moving from verse to chorus or building up to a drop, this class will equip you with tools to elevate your productions.

Presenter: Simon Servida is a Toronto-based music producer, composer, and YouTuber known for his contemporary R&B music and instructional content on his channel, Servida Music. He started playing the piano at age 7, began producing at 14, and later studied music composition at the University of Guelph. Servida has gained a large following on YouTube since 2018 by creating videos on music production and beat-making and has also worked as a composer for various films and projects, including producing for the popular Filipino group SB19.
