This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Barossa shares many stories of people coming from around the world to make a new home in this beautiful region. Yet, the ancient stories and culture of the Ngadjuri, Peramangk, and Kaurna People are less known.

We are invited to join Indigenous people to embark on a captivating journey into the rich tapestry of First Nation culture at the special venue, Bethany Reserve from 11 am to 4 pm. This family-friendly event invites you to explore the vibrant heritage, delectable food, and unique customs of the Ngadjuri, Peramangk, and Kaurna People – the Indigenous Australians whose ancient stories are deeply intertwined with the enchanting landscape of the Barossa region.

Discover the lesser-known, ancient narratives of the land as Indigenous community members graciously share their Dreamtime stories and offer insights into their cultural practices, lifestyles, and profound knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Join us in paying homage to the spirit of Indigenous ancestors as we come together to sit, talk, share, and learn. Engage in hands-on activities such as creating art, purchasing native plants with medicinal and culinary uses, and immersing yourself in the rhythmic beats of didgeridoo and sticks music. Delight your taste buds with a diverse array of native foods, including vegan, vegetarian, and meat options, while sipping on native teas.

This is a day to forge connections and appreciate the wisdom passed down through generations. The experience promises to be truly memorable, offering your family a unique introduction to a cultural heritage that adds depth to the tapestry of our community.

Join us on this immersive cultural odyssey – it's an invitation to create lasting memories and broaden your family's horizons.
