Event description
THE GO TWOS in Concert
The Go Twos are a dynamic folk band blending the rich musical traditions of American Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, and the timeless sounds of Irish, Scottish, and Celtic music. Fronted by accomplished guitarist and vocalist Rosie McDonald, known for her rhythmic guitar work and soulful alto voice, and Nigel Lever, a celebrated mandolinist and guitarist with deep roots in bluegrass and folk, The Go Twos create a captivating and heartfelt musical experience. Joining them is Ann Palumbo bringing powerful double bass grooves and sublime vocal harmonies to the mix and Quentin Fraser, a versatile musician whose skill on double bass, Dobro, and flat-picked guitar adds depth and colour to their live and recorded performances. With their tight musicianship, compelling storytelling, and shared passion for traditional roots music, The Go Twos are carving a unique place in the contemporary folk scene and winning audiences wherever they play.
SUPPORT ACT: Paul Lloyd Nicholas ( Wales)
Paul Lloyd Nicholas is a singer-songwriter from South Wales in the UK whose albums have received wide critical acclaim (“plays like a devil, sings like an angel” says one reviewer). The title song of his album Hold The Line has been curated by the National Museum of Wales and along the way he’s picked up an army of fans. “Paul follows in the footsteps of the great singer-songwriters like James Taylor and Randy Newman,” says hit record producer Al Steele. Folk Wales magazine adds: “Paul can hold an audience transfixed with a beautiful song...he enriches the folk scene.”
