Parking

There is limited on-site parking. There is also plenty of on-street parking in the neighbourhood. If possible, we recommend car-pooling.

Note that from 6.15pm, access to Cochranes Road will be limited until around 8pm for the Walk of Light lantern procession.

Entry Requirements & Speakers

In terms of the event itself, there will be several thousand members of Melbourne’s Jewish community gathering in respectful solidarity, mourning those killed in the brutal and horrific attacks of 7th October. Those speaking at the event are drawn from the community and are primarily family and friends who lost loved ones. We are confident that the event will proceed with the decorum and dignity that befits the unique and unprecedented nature of this event. Security reserves the right to deny entry/remove attendees if required.

Event Schedule:

5:30 PM: Viewing of the installations (optional)
6:45 PM: Gather at meeting point for Walk of Light lantern procession
7:00 PM: Walk of Light (accessibility-friendly), followed by Commemoration Service
8:30 PM: Additional time to view installations (optional)
9.30 PM: Venue closes

Other Important Information:

Lanterns: No lantern? No problem. Please attend anyway!
Child-Friendly: Families are welcome. Whilst this will be a solemn occasion, no graphic imagery will be displayed.
Security: Please arrive early for security checks. There will be a robust security presence, coordinated with CSG and police. Note that bags will be checked, so please consider not bringing one .
Food: Limited food vendors will be available from 5.30pm. They will be closed during the Walk/Commemoration, resuming service once the service is concluded.
