Illustration workshop for kids, with Aura Parker

Join children’s book creator Aura Parker for a special workshop amongst the beautiful blooms at The Calyx in the Royal Botanical Gardens to celebrate the launch of her new picture book, Goodnight, Glow Worms. Draw along with Aura in this interactive workshop as she shows you how to draw her characters and shares insights into her art and writing process. Aura demonstrates how she designs characters and makes them expressive, drawing from life and from her imagination. Plus learn about real Glow Worms and what makes them glow! A kids event not to be missed!

Workshop suitable for 5-8 years old.
$25, includes a signed copy of Goodnight Glow Worms (32-page, hardback picture book)

Aura Parker is a bestselling author and illustrator of children’s picture books, known for joyful stories, playful humour and whimsical watercolour, pencil and pen illustrations. Her latest title, Goodnight, Glow Worms, published by Penguin Random House is the ultimate bedtime book for the very young, about a group of Glow Worms who can’t switch off. Workshops are limited to 15 attendees who will be seated on the floor so they can be spread out from one another. Parents / carers are welcome to explore the Calyx and gardens but can’t be admitted into the function space due to capacity, however it may be possible to view from the side depending on the numbers at the time. Art materials, charcoal, A4 paper and clipboard will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Thank you for joining us.
