'I'm with Cupid!' combines romance, humour, and an electrifying soundtrack of chart-topping pop hits that delve into the anatomy of human emotion. It is a hilarious tale of love, vulnerability and what makes a truly strong heart.

Written by Chevalier's own leader of CAPALoT, Joshua Combes, this production is a twist on the timeless comedy 'Much Ado About Nothing', set in a not-too-distant future at the luxurious and high-tech Cupid’s Arrow Resort. Distilled into an intentionally simple studio performance, the show spotlights our young performers from Years 7-10 as the primary source of entertainment, while a few senior students take key leadership production roles to support our junior students. Mr Combes says, “It has been such a privileged experience to support these young artists, many of whom have never performed in a play before, to take creative risks and step into their light.”

Beatrice and Benedick passionately swear never to fall in love, and appear to dislike each other immensely. Their opinions and verbal sparring are observed as something other than indifference however. Are they being authentic? Could this simply be shielded vulnerability? Their friends conspire to trick them into falling in love with hilarious consequences. “Some Cupid hits with arrows some with traps!”
