Introducing Final Fridays, a new series of after-hours events led by artists and members of our creative community.

Kicking off the 2022 program is Transcendence: A Celebration of Gender Diversity, an evening of trans and BIPOC-led music, magic, nourishment, and culture presented by The Naavikaran Collective.

Explore pop-up performances spanning drag, spoken word, dance, and meditation and let loose with DJ sets by DJ Neesha Alexander and Naavikaran.

Expect sugar, spice, and all things nice from multidisciplinary artist and babe Anita Alexander, the emerging Drag King of Meanjin Dale Emerald, Non-binary legend DJ. ieL The Solution, and the Queen of Sri Lanka, Navindra Alexander.

Commemorating Trans Day of Visibility, the night brings together trans and gender diverse people of various intersections (particularly BIPOC, disability, refugee, and asylum seekers) to come together for an evening of celebration, joy, and liberation. Everyone is welcome—this is a safe space for trans and gender diverse communities and respect from allies in attendance is a must.

The IMA galleries will stay open late for a last-chance opportunity to enjoy This language that is every stone.
