Imagine's Loss & Grief Specialist Community Training (3-Day Intensive)
Description
This is an experiential learning opportunity designed to deepen your understanding of grief and strengthen your ability to support children, teens, and families who are grieving.
This 18-hour training (inclusive of a one-hour lunch break each day) offers a small, supportive learning environment with no more than 12 participants. Hosted at Imagine’s Mountainside center (244 Sheffield St., Mountainside, NJ), the training includes convenient, free on-site parking.
Led by Veronica C. Ortiz, LPC, Imagine’s Training and Education Director, and Abigail Priece, LPC, Clinical Program Supervisor, this training blends professional development with personal reflection. Participants will engage in a model similar to Imagine’s peer support groups—offering space to reflect on personal and professional experiences with loss, while building practical skills to support others.
Through guided discussion, reflection, and hands-on practice, you will gain tools, language, and confidence to companion individuals and families navigating grief in both personal and professional settings.
Who Should Attend:
Mental health professionals, school counselors, educators, clergy, community members, and anyone supporting children and families who are grieving.
Cost:
This training is generously funded by the New York Life Foundation, allowing participants to attend at no cost.
(please note: this training runs from 9am - 5pm each day)
