Imbolc with the Gaia Temple 2026
Description
Imbolc Blessings!
It is the time of the stirrings, not yet spring but moving out of the depths of winter.
The Earth tips back on its axis moving towards the sun. The warmth hastens plant growth… and our own growth. Soon, we will start to see the wattles bloom, as the mornings brighten day by day.
We “look forward” once more. This is a time to prepare for the flurry that is spring.
As the wheel turns once more, we enter Guling, the Wurundjeri Season of Orchids. The silver wattles are bursting into bloom, the nights echo with the bellow of possums and koalas, and the first breath of spring stirs gently beneath the soil.
In the ancient Celtic calendar it is Imbolc, the early spring fire festival that marks the quickening of the earth and the return of light.
This seasonal threshold is a time to honour maiden energy in the land awakening her seeds, buds, and newly emerging blossoms.
We shall honour this time by awakening the land with the ringing of bells and dancing the maiden energy in at Darebin Parklands.
Bring a bell to awaken the land, a plate to share for the potluck feat and anything to add to the alter.
Ware shoes for walking the land and
Colours of the sliver wattle, white, yellow and light green.
