Event description

Powered by Future Anything, our second Immanuel Youth Innovation Summit for 2023 takes place on Thursday 9 November.

Designed and developed by educators alongside industry leaders, this engaging and hands-on full day workshop culminates in teams of students pitching their own innovative solutions to a complex, local issue.

Students in Year 8 - 11 will hear from some of Australia’s most inspiring changemakers, as well as explicitly developing their entrepreneurial thinking and human-centred design skills. Culminating in a 'Shark Tank' style pitch experience on the final day, students will ideate, prototype, and pitch in response to the following mission:

"As an entrepreneur, pitch an innovative, scalable, and sustainable idea that uses Sports Tech to solve a key community challenge."

The cost to participate in the program is just $20 per student (with supervisors/teachers attending free), and registration also includes breakfast and lunch for all participants, as well as the provision of all resources to support students to make the most out of the experience.

NB Students at Immanuel College DO NOT need to book tickets through this page. Attendance for Immanuel students will be arranged via their teacher.

If you don't yet know the names of students that will attend, please add Student 1, Student 2 etc when prompted, and you can update their details closer to the time.

Up to 15 student tickets per school are available. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, but consideration will be given to ensure there is a mix of schools attending. If you would like more tickets, please register for 15 initially and indicate that you would like to access additional tickets when prompted. We will let you know if additional tickets become available.

Catering

Lunch for all participants will be provided.  Please indicate any dietary requirements when registering.

Permissions and Supervision
Each participating school is required to manage parental permission requirements and ensure a suitable level of staff supervision for their students attending the event. While participating teachers/parents will not be required to formally facilitate the sessions, their engagement in the activities will increase teachers’ skills and confidence in unlocking students’ entrepreneurial mindset in the classroom. Students are required to complete a media permission form as this event may be filmed/photographed.

What Students Need to Bring:

  • Their own refillable water bottle
  • An internet-enabled device (if possible), though students won't be disadvantaged if they don't have this
  • A dash of enthusiasm, an open mind, and a willingness to engage with others.

Please note that students are required to wear their school uniform.
