Powered by Future Anything, this fast-paced and hands-on day of listening, learning, and doing culminates in teams of students pitching their own innovative technology-based solution to a complex, local issue.

The second event in a series of four exciting and engaging themed events being offered throughout 2022, students will hear from some of Australia’s most exciting and inspiring innovators and changemakers, as well as explicitly developing their entrepreneurial thinking and human-centred design skills.  

The theme for this workshop is 'Health & Wellbeing’.

Held at Immanuel College on Friday 27 June 2022, this event is free for students and teachers. Registration includes breakfast and lunch for all participants (and supervising teachers) as well as all the provision of all resources to support students to make the most out of the experience.

Agenda (subject to change)

  • 8:30 am: Students arrive and check-in
  • 8:30 am - 9:00 am Breakfast provided for all participants and teachers. 
  • 9.00am - 9.45am: Session 1: Welcome + Overview of the Day + Team Formation
  • 9.45am - 10:30am: Keynote Presentation + Panel Experience. Speakers to be confirmed closer to the event.
  • 10:30am - 11:00pm: Morning Tea
  • 11:00pm - 1:00pm:  Session 2: The Entrepreneur's Odyssey: Problem exploration, Ideation of solutions, Prototyping + Feedback
  • 1:00pm- 1.45pm: Lunch provided for all participants and teachers. 
  • 1.45pm - 2:15pm : Session 3: Elevator Pitch Preparation
  • 2:15pm - 2:50pm : Session 4: The Pitch Event
  • 2:50pm - 3:00pm: Wrap Up + Close

Who should attend?

The event is designed for students in Years 7 - 10. We are seeking a broad mix of students, both in capability and talents, who would benefit from exploring entrepreneurial skills in a motivating, hands-on, engaging, and supportive environment.

Up to 10 free students tickets per school are available. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, but consideration will be given to ensure there is a mix of schools attending. If you would like more than 10 tickets, please register for 10 initially, and then email us at hello@futureanything.com to let us know how many additional tickets you require. 

Catering

Breakfast and lunch for students will be provided.  Please indicate any dietary requirements when registering. 

Permissions and Supervision
Each participating school will be asked to manage parental permission requirements and ensure a suitable level of staff supervision for their students attending the event. While participating teachers/parents will not be required to formally facilitate the sessions, their engagement in the activities will increase teachers’ skills and confidence in unlocking students’ entrepreneurial mindset in the classroom.

What Students Need to Bring:
• Their own refillable water bottle
• Students are required to wear their school uniform
• A dash of enthusiasm, an open mind and a willingness to engage with others.

Meet the facilitator:

Nicole is a globally recognised expert and practitioner in project-based learning and student entrepreneurship and is the founder of Future Anything, an award-winning, curriculum-aligned entrepreneurship program for high school students. She is also the founder of YouthX, Australia’s first purpose-built Accelerator program for school-aged entrepreneurs.

Nicole is a contributor to the Foundation for Young Australian’s YLab program, has represented Australia as a delegate for the G20 Young Entrepreneur’s Alliance, held in Argentina in 2018, and was a finalist in the 2019 Business News Australia ‘Young Entrepreneur Awards’.
As a teacher in the USA, UK, and Australia as well as a Head of Department and Head of Year at some of Queensland’s top-performing public schools, Nicole has repeatedly led the design and implementation of whole-school changes to support future-ready learning.

Nicole passionately believes that youth-led ideas have the power to bend the future, and works tirelessly to provide young people (and their educators) with the support, skills, and space they need to take their ideas out of the classroom and into the real world
