Immersia Freediving Dive Against Debris 2025 w/ Dive Centre Bondi & PADI AWARE
Event description
Dive Against Debris
We're thrilled to join forces again with Dive Centre Bondi and PADI AWARE for a Dive Against Debris Initiative here on Bondi Beach! We're uniting our Freediving and Scuba communities to clean up one of our local treasures and frequent dive spots in the Eastern Suburbs.
Clean-Up Details
Our Dive Site will be North Bondi Beach!
⏰ Meeting time: 9:30 AM for our Dive Briefing
📍Meeting location: Biddigal Reserve (the grassy area at the top of North Bondi Beach) for a dive/clean-up briefing
🧜♀️ Clean-up Sites: Please see clean-up site location options below
Option 1: Beach Entry
Easy/fun-dive option, also great for our snorkelers or swimmers! Heads up, there may be some small waves to get through.
Option 2: Ben Buckler Entry
Keen to jump straight in? Enter by the boat ramp at Ben Buckler, depth ranges from 5m-15m the further you go. There will be an experienced diver there to guide you through a safety briefing as it can be very slippery!
Option 3: On-land Forager
Don't want to get wet? Feel free to scan the grassy area, beach area or rocks at North Bondi for any rubbish or debris that will end up in the ocean.
Duration:
The clean up lasts approximately an hour, after which we spend some time sorting through the debris and collecting data for Project AWARE. You can meet us back at our meeting spot for a debrief! To finish the day Dive Centre Bondi have invited us to their Dive Against Debris BBQ at the dive centre as a thank you!
Getting Organised:
Get all your dive gear ready as this is a BYO gear event! If you're missing any gear, now is a good time to text your dive buddy for an extra weight or spare wetsuit.
Sign Our Waiver:
Save time on the day, and sign our waiver here. If you bring a friend who hasn't registered, make sure you introduce us to them to our Immersia rep Jasmine who will have a QR code for them to scan and sign on their phone.
