Speakers
We will have experienced speakers live at the session to talk about their experiences with impact investment. This will include:
Simon Miller |Â General Counsel for Save the Children
Simon is General Counsel for Save the Children Australia. After spending the best part of the noughties working for US law firms in London where he had a front row seat to the Enron bankruptcy, and more exposure to the global M&A market for luxury hotels than is decent for an impact investing webinar, a serendipitous introduction led Simon to a career within the international NGO sector where he has spent the last 15 years working with World Vision and Save the Children. A believer in the important role that large charitable iNGOs like Save the Children can continue to play in the world, Simon has worked on a full spectrum of legal and governance issues, including global transparency and accountability projects pushing iNGOs to demonstrate that they hold true to the values and the ethics they espouse. In recent years Simon has helped Save the Children Australia to establish and grow a number of social enterprises and launch its own impact investment fund. The Australian foray into impact investing has led to a new initiative for the global network - Save the Children Global Ventures - which Simon is currently assisting with establishing. Save the Children Global Ventures will see Save the Children further expanding its presence in the impact investing arena. Simon holds a Masters of Public & International Law from the University of Melbourne.
