Capital with a Conscience Lunch: Impact Investing into mental health and wellbeing

Make your investment have an impact on the world. And this time, on mental wellbeing in Aotearoa.

Join us for an impact investment masterclass over lunch. Hosted by Impact Investing NetworkMercer and Soul Capital.

Climate change. Growing inequality. Systemic exclusion. We're faced with a series of wicked problems that pose a heightened threat to all of us. Investors are now considering both the social and environmental implications of their portfolios, alongside financial returns.

But avoiding harm isn't enough. Investment can accelerate the positive social, environmental and cultural impact for people and planet.

Impact investing is a vehicle to measure positive and transformational change, all the while delivering compelling financial returns.

Want to be a part of this growing movement?

We're hosting a series of impact investment lunches to showcase live investment opportunities that are currently putting a dent in Aotearoa's most pressing social and environmental issues.

Impact Lunch Theme - investing into mental health and wellbeing

At this impact lunch, we're shining the spotlight on the role of impact investing to contribute towards mental health.

Around 1.25 million people in Aotearoa experience, or are vulnerable to, mental distress every year, and the system can only service a maximum of 400,000 of them, leaving at least 850,000 New Zealanders without the support they need. Private and philanthropic investment is essential for our system transformation as a space in which ‘safe risks’ can be taken to experiment with ideas that might add value. Ideas funded through private and philanthropic investment have the potential to strengthen the principles of tino rangitiratanga, self-determination and choice.

Our special speaker, Taimi Allan will share her in-depth expertise and experiences advocating for greater investment into mental health and wellbeing, and share insights from the recently released report Catalysing Capital: Accelerating Solutions for Mental Wellbeing in Aotearoa.
