    Event description

Please join us on 16 June at 12:30 pm, for an opportunity to hear from our 2021 grant recipients and find out first hand how your donation is changing the lives of disadvantaged youth in Sydney.

Last year, SHINE for Kids and Confit Pathways  joined forces to create an innovative new program to transform the lives of children and young people in juvenile detention.  Your donation has helped fund the expansion of Shine for Kids’ proven Strong Pathways Together program to reach an additional 80 young people in juvenile detention in Greater Sydney.

The program combines a nine-week program in custody, focusing on exercise, building self-esteem and preparation for employment and education, with a 12 month post release mentoring program in the community by mentors with lived experience of the justice system.

We will be joined by Julie Hourigan Ruse, CEO of Shine for Kids to hear how the program has been rolled out.

Hearing back from last year's grant recipient is always a wonderful opportunity to connect with other donors.  You are welcome to bring a friend (or more!) so they too can gain a greater insight into the Impact100 Sydney process, and connect with like-minded people keen to support their community.

Tickets are $25 per person. We encourage you to use your Dine and Discover vouchers to make the event more affordable or to encourage that friend to join you!

Our event will be conducted in a Covid-safe environment, and may be subject to last minute changes.

    About Us:

The Impact 100 model is simple. 100 donations of $1,000 are combined to raise $100,000 each year and granted to an organisation that can have a real and measurable impact for our city.

Now in it's 6th year in Sydney, it's one of the fastest growing movements in philanthropy, and for good reason - your donation goes 100 times further through the power of collective giving, and you have a direct say in where the money goes.

In 2021 we were very excited to support Confit Pathways and SHINE for Kids with funds to create an innovative new program to transform the lives of children and young people in juvenile detention.

In 2020, faced with the ongoing COVID-19 virus issue and the health and safety of our community in mind, Stepping Stone House became the 4th recipient of the $100,000 grant following a very exciting and close Finalist Round.

In 2019, we were pleased to announce that Open Support was the recipient of our third grant, addressing the theme of “Building Safer Communities for Children and Young People”, focusing on domestic and family violence.

In 2018, our focus was on social inclusion, with the aim of supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and refugees as well as young people at risk. Our second grant was awarded to The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation for its Refugee Action Support program.

In 2017, our members voted to award our first $100,000 grant to Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre as part of our focus on young people at risk in greater Sydney.
