With easy, short-form games and playful exercises - you’re invited to explore the art of improvised comedy and drama in a small, cosy group in Ilkley.

Improvisation is the art of accepting ‘what is’ with playful, heartfelt curiosity in the here-and-now. It’s about making things up as you go along, collaboratively. It can involve movement, games, stories, dialogue, reactions, characters and plot.

Hosted by a professional facilitator, these regular monthly improv classes are purposefully gentle with a more reflective and mindful approach to improvisation. That means extra care, clarity and support through every activity, with opportunities to learn, discuss and reflect - as well as laugh.

No audience. No performance. No pressure.
Small, all-ability group (max. 12 people).
Comfortable, inspiring and spacious venue.
Play on your terms - everything’s an invitation.
Drop-in casually - no course or commitment.

Expect fun & laughter

Expect silliness, kindness, make-believe, and profound moments of feeling moved.

There’s gentle challenge too, if you’re open to learning.

Expect to learn

You’ll also gain powerful, fundamental principles to help you get the most out of improv - principles that help you navigate life’s challenges, as well as performance and improv.

Expect reflection

There’ll be plenty of reflection - opportunities to discuss and explore what’s coming up as you play and learn. And kind, experienced support from your host.

This workshop lasts approximately 90 minutes and spaces are deliberately limited to 12 people to keep things cosy and comfortable.

The workshop will be a mix of whole group, pair and small group exercises. These will be seated or standing, with occasional gentle movement and plenty of sharing and reflection.

Whatever your experience, ability and walk of life - you’re welcome. 🤲🏻
