Maintenance Delivery Model and Performance Measures
There are different models that companies use to deliver their maintenance and services.
South East Water (SEW) use a collaborative approach using alliance partners to deliver their maintenance requirement and these partnerships often involve close cooperation and shared responsibilities to achieve mutual goals.
Performance measures are critical in managing relationships with alliance partners. They help ensure that both parties are aligned in their goals and commitments.
In this CIWG they will be taking us through the model they have and how they use performance measures to help manage that relationship. Â
Laurence Salley -Â Mechanical & Electrical Asset Services Manager, South East Water
Laurence commenced as a mechanical maintenance engineer in power generation, then moved to the water sector in 2006 where he worked in a variety of planning, maintenance and design engineering roles. He commenced with South East Water 13 years ago as the M&E Reliability Engineer and is currently SEW’s Mechanical & Electrical Asset Services Manager.
After a decade of delivering design, construction and maintenance functions via an alliance partnership, South East Water completely overhauled its maintenance delivery model in 2013. Rather than SEW engaging a single maintenance delivery partner, the model is structured with two Tier 1 Industry Partners in each key field (two delivering Mech & Elec maintenance, and two delivering Water & Sewer Civil maintenance). The model is now in its second iteration, the first having run from 2013-2022.
This session will detail some of the rationale behind adopting this delivery model, the development and implementation of performance measures and score cards, lessons learned from the first iteration of the model, and the pros and cons of the model as experienced by both South East Water and the Industry Partners.
Whilst the model is applied to both M&E and civil maintenance functions, the main focus of this session will be on the M&E aspects.
Please join us for this session and also network with likeminded people.
We look forward to seeing you there.
