SIRF IMRt Common Interest Work Group (CIWG) - Online Event via Zoom 

Managing Rotable Spares

Rotables are Spare Parts or whole pieces of equipment that can be repeatedly and economically refurbished to a serviceable condition over a period approximating the life of the equipment to which they are related. 

Managing this process is one of the most complicated processes in Maintenance & is often not done well. 

This is the story of Energy Australia's journey to managing their Rotables.





Tony Massaro - Logistics Team Leader and Chantel Leahy - Rotable Spares Officer of Energy Australia

Tony is the Logistics Team Leader and together with Chantel Leahy who its the Rotable Spares Officer will be presenting on how Energy Australia managers their Rotable Spares.

Topics to be covered will include:
• Funding & Valuation – Initial Purchase, Valuation of USABLE & DAMAGED STOCK, Planning of Maintenance Work Orders
• Storage – How the materials are stored & maintained
• Refurbishment life cycle – From issuing the Materials to retrieving from area to sending for overhaul
• Tracking of repairs – Purchase Orders, & Internal Orders to track repairs (no spreadsheets)
• Internal & External Repairs – How Internal & External Repairs are managed
• Specifications & Quality – QI on Safety Valves & other materials

Greg will also be commenting on how they manage Rotable spares at their Loy Yang plant with AGL
