“In a Flap” is a one day workshop offering adult participants the unique experience of constructing their own interactive "bird" sculpture. Participants learn the fundamentals of mechanisms used in automata design, along with construction techniques, modelling and decorating skills.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
David Archer works from Adelaide, South Australia and is a maker of ingenious automata, animatronics and devices of all kinds. His career spans more than twenty five years from childhood inventor, boilermaker – welder, ceramic and visual artist. Archer holds a visual arts degree from the South Australian School of Art and was a resident at the Jam Factory, Adelaide.

Archer’s work has appeared in and been commissioned for many festivals and exhibitions nationally and internationally.
