In Concert with James Morrison

With multi-instrumentalist James Morrison and his quartet, alongside Newcastle’s own Fernleigh Wind Ensemble.

Performing for one show only, this is an exceptional opportunity to experience one of Australia’s most talented and versatile jazz musicians!

James Morrison is renowned globally as one of the finest jazz players of his generation, known not only as a trumpet virtuoso but also as an educator and all-around entertainer. Wynton Marsalis said it best: “Man, James Morrison can play!”

No matter how familiar you may be with James Morrison, you haven’t heard him play until you’ve heard him with this group. What makes the quartet so special is the joy they create when they perform. James says, “This is what can happen when you have four musicians who all have a will to swing and are of one mind when it comes to the reason they play”.

If you love jazz that swings and music that makes you smile, don’t miss the Fernleigh Wind Ensemble in concert with the James Morrison Quartet!

The Fernleigh Wind Ensemble is part of the Fernleigh Orchestral and Arts Network, comprising musicians across the Hunter. This collaboration supports the network’s commitment to mentoring young musicians and transforming musical education and performance into experiences through Newcastle and the Hunter.
