WACOSS and The Australia Institute presents: In Conversation with Dr Richard Denniss.

Executive Director of the Australia Institute, Dr Richard Denniss is a prominent economist, author and public policy commentator, and a former Assoc Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU. He is the author of several books including: Econobabble, Curing Affluenza, Dead Right: How Neoliberalism Ate Itself and What Comes Next? and Big: The Role of the State in the Modern Economy.

Tired of being bamboozled by econobabble? Richard will explain the key economic issues of our time and how they impact on our sector in a way that cuts through.

Hosted by former ABC Perth Drive presenter, Geoff Hutchison, In Conversation with Dr Richard Denniss, is an event not to be missed.

To change the systems, behaviours and attitudes that perpetuates entrenched poverty, inequity and exclusion WACOSS challenges and develops alternative solutions to systematic structures, community priorities and galvanises community support. We also partner with the national Council of Social Service network, as one of nine peak councils of the community services sector across Australia to ensure that there is a Western Australian perspective on the national stage. WACOSS is bold in its ambition, challenging belief structures and cultural norms, and building community empathy. It is time for us as a community to come together and create a fair and just society. We invite all Western Australians to join with us and our 300 members to drive change and overcome entrenched poverty, inequity and exclusion.
