About Jake Duczynski

Jake Duczynski is a proud Gomeroi and Mandandanji writer and director who is committed to Indigenous representation on-screen and to fortifying a space for Indigenous voices in the Australian animation industry.

About Studio Gillay

Formed in 2021 by Jake Duczynski and James Hackett, Studio Gilay is a Sydney-based, half-Indigenous-owned production company renowned for its close collaboration and honest approach to design-driven storytelling. Committed to originality, diversity, and meaningful on-screen representation, Gilay is supported by a dynamic and passionate team. The studio is a creative powerhouse, featuring writers, directors, and artists, with over a third of the team representing Indigenous backgrounds. 

In addition to our animation, design and live-action work, Studio Gilay excels at crafting bespoke artworks that seamlessly integrate into cohesive campaigns. Whether it's branding and merchandising, or art infused with live-action or animation, Studio Gilay prides itself on meaningful collaboration with clients, delivering innovative work that showcases original artistry.
