Event description

Join us for a powerful morning in conversation with Sherele Moody.

The She Matters podcast is the work of award-winning journalist, femicide researcher and anti-violence campaigner Sherele Moody.

Sherele is a professional journalist who has worked across crime, court, social justice and other areas during her 28 years in the media industry. She started The RED HEART Campaign 10 years ago. Since then, she has documented the violent deaths of more than 2500 Australian women and children.

As well as documenting and telling the stories of women and children killed, she provides advocacy for families impacted by homicide, ethical gendered violence media training for journalists, coordinates national rallies and vigils for killed women, is the creator of the iconic She Matters mural in Melbourne and is currently setting up transitional accommodation for women leaving violence.

The RED HEART Campaign and its sister-project, Australian Femicide Watch, are Australia's leading social media anti-violence campaigns and platforms for documenting femicide and child deaths.

These projects are entirely crowd-funded - there is no support from governments or the sector.
