JMC Academy is excited to announce that local psychedelic rock band, The Lazy Eyes will be heading to campus next month to share their stories from life together as a band. From formation, to touring, evolving as artists and approaching their sophomore album, this is an awesome opportunity to learn from a band at the height of their rock ‘n’ roll powers and to hear what they have in store for 2024!

Catch Harvey, Itay, Noah and Leon on December 5th at JMC Sydney in conversation with host Clare Neal, followed by an exclusive Q&A with questions asked by YOU. This epic panel will be live in Sydney and also be live-streamed to JMC Brisbane. Places are extremely limited - register ASAP to secure your spot!

    About The Lazy Eyes:

Harvey Geraghty, Itay Shachar and Noah Martin met in their early years at Sydney’s Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. They became fast friends and began to busk around Sydney, their burgeoning band bound together by long hours carting their instruments around the city. In late 2015, The Lazy Eyes decided to formalise the band as a unit, a decision that coincided neatly with their meeting of Leon Karagic, who provided much-needed bass to their ensemble.

One of The Lazy Eyes’ earliest performances was at Brisbane’s BigSound festival in 2019. Their debut single ‘Cheesy Love Song’ appeared in January 2020. It was followed by a three-track extended play, EP1, in June. Their second three-track EP2 appeared in July 2021. In 2022 The Lazy Eyes released their debut studio album SongBook to critical acclaim.

Their track ‘Fuzz Jam’ was added to full rotation on national youth radio Triple J, becoming the No. 1 most played track for November 2021 and was performed on the Like a Version segment in September 2022.

The group has sold out headline shows in Australia, United States and United Kingdom. They performed at festivals including St. Jerome's Laneway Festival (Australia), The Great Escape Festival (UK), Splendour in the Grass (Australia) and Hipnosis Festival (Mexico), as well as supporting bands such as The Strokes. The Lazy Eyes also started their own festival, Lazyfest, in 2021.

If you are a Music, Entertainment, or Audio student, already have a love for The Lazy Eyes or are new to the fandom this panel is for you! This opportunity is open to all current JMC Academy students in person at our Sydney campus, and online at our Brisbane Campus. Please note, capacity is limited and registrations are essential.
