Join us for Zanny Begg in conversation with Dr Christine Rogers.

The discussion will expand on themes of Zanny Begg: These stories will be different and delve into the use of film to explore hidden and contested histories.

Zanny Begg is an artist and filmmaker living in Bulli, on Dharawal land. She uses film, drawing and installation to explore hidden and contested histories, and examines different ways in which we can live and exist in the world. Through her practice, Begg has explored macro-political themes such as alter-globalisation protests, and micro-political worlds, such as children in maximum-security prisons.

Dr Christine Rogers is a Pākehā/Ngāi Tahu filmmaker, writer and textile artist. Her film work encompasses fiction, essay films, art videos, corporate and infotainment, and has been screened nationally and internationally at multiple film festivals. Her writing has been published in books, journals, newspapers and online. Her textile art has been exhibited in Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand. Through her creative practice, Dr Rogers explores belonging, adoption, and identity.
