In Our Own Words: Structuring Your Story Workshop

Come along to the Library's workshop celebrating female writers as part of NSW Women's Week (2 - 8 March 2025). 

Without structure, a memoir risks feeling like a list of anecdotes.

Facilitated by Fiona Murphy, you will learn how to express yourself and your voice by structuring your memoir to elevate your story. 

Whether you are just starting out or have already begun, this workshop will be a positive motivator.

Fiona Murphy is an award-winning writer, editor and arts critic. She has been widely published, including in The Guardian, ABC, The Saturday Paper, Griffith Review, The Big Issue. In 2021, her memoir about growing up deaf, The Shape of Sound, was released in Australia, New Zealand, UK and North America. It was highly commended in the 2022 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Fiona regularly lectures on creative writing and facilitates creative writing workshops. She is a MacDowell Fellow (2022) and Peter Blazey Fellow (2024).
