Event description
Olla making workshop
Ollas (pronounced oi-ya) provide an efficient low-tech way to irrigate your home garden. Traditionally, unglazed terracotta jugs were filled with water and buried in the soil. Once in contact with the soil water seeps through the porous terracotta, directly to the rootzone of surrounding plants. Make your own olla using the coiling technique, with a decorative lid to help locate it in the garden.
Single-fired, no glazing required.
These workshops are designed for adults.
