Inclusion Community of Practice (Southside) Educator Wellbeing – Presented by Alicia Marshall, BeYou.
Event description
About the session:
Educator wellbeing is at the heart of creating positive learning environments. When educators are mentally healthy, they are empowered to create learning communities where everyone has the potential to thrive.
However, in the latest Be You Mental Health in Education Report (2024) only 38% of educators felt the staff in their learning communities are mentally healthy. While self-care is important, research shows that supporting educator wellbeing is most successful when a whole learning community approach is taken. This means leaders, early learning services, schools and education systems all build and strengthen protective factors that promote educator wellbeing.
One of these contributing factors is how we support and promote positive and respectful collegial relationships. Join Alicia in this Community of Practice conversation to unpack how we can further promote and protect positive collegial relationships using the seven guiding principles for thriving workplaces.
About the presenter:
Alicia is a Be You Consultant with Early Childhood Australia. Joining Early Childhood Australia in 2017, Alicia is an early childhood educator with a background in psychology, early childhood mental health and adult education.
