Understanding the learning profile of a student with Down Syndrome.

The workshop is an informative workshop by Miriam Philomena with the extensive knowledge of this topic. It will discuss how to work with the strengths of students with Down syndrome to accommodate the challenges.

This workshop will help parents, carers, educators and supporters to understand some of the specific development profiles of the student to assist with them having a positive experience in an educational setting.

Miriam Philomena is the behaviour specialist at DSNSW and has been with us for 19 years.

Miriam is a passionate advocate for people with Down syndrome and their families.

She draws on her knowledge as a social worker, her lived experience as the mother of a thirty-year-old daughter who has Down syndrome and is a talented artist, and nineteen years of working with our families.

Miriam is passionate about the overall growth and well-being of all students. She strongly advocates for an inclusive educational environment where every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
