As Melbourne’s workforce continues to evolve, effective education and training pathways are essential to addressing skills shortages, developing a skilled workforce, and ensuring migrants and refugees can fully contribute their talents and experience to the community and economy.

The discussion will be led by our panel which includes speakers with academic expertise, professional experience, and lived experience.

Key discussions will focus on:

• Which current education and training pathways are effectively recognising migrant and refugee skills and experience?

• What can we learn from current successful programs, courses, and initiatives?

• How can proven mainstream education-to-employment programs be adapted for people facing additional barriers?

• How can education providers, employers, and community organisations work together to create more equitable opportunities?

This free event brings together educators, employers and community organisations to explore how education and training pathways can better support migrants and refugees into meaningful employment. Through collaborative, solution-focused discussions, participants will identify opportunities, address barriers, and highlight the valuable skills and contributions migrants and refugees bring to our communities, workplaces and economy. Together, we can help build a more open, resilient and thriving Australia.

Following the discussions, attendees will participate in a networking lunch and valuable opportunities to engage directly with decision-makers, sector leaders, and community stakeholders.
