Starting School
This workshop is a supportive space for parents/carers of children with Down syndrome starting school next year (aged 4 -7 years) to connect before the start of the school year.
It is a chance to connect, share experiences, and gather valuable insights into the unique journey of raising exceptional children.
Alison Maunder, our Down Syndrome NSW Education Specialist, will facilitate the session, covering key topics and sharing our Down Syndrome NSW Starting School Toolkit.
There will also be an opportunity for parents and carers to share their experiences, connect, share practical tips and ask questions.

Speaker:Â Alison Maunder, Educator
Alison Maunder is an educator of over 20 years, specialising in literacy intervention for students with high-support needs. She has worked in a range of diverse learning environments, and since 2019, has developed and initiated a targeted reading program, working specifically with students with Down Syndrome. She is passionate about developing not only literacy skills but also the overall growth and well-being of all students. She strongly advocates for an inclusive educational environment where every child is given the opportunity to achieve their full potential.  Â
