This 24-hour workshop aims to build reflection and dialogue, as well as expand your skillset for inclusive teaching and learning. We will be discussing pedagogical approaches and inclusive teaching practices such as Universal Design for Learning, and participants will get a chance to practice and receive peer feedback on facilitating inclusive conversations and learning activities. As participant in this 24-hour series, you will walk away with your own positionality statement, new strategies and design for inclusive teaching, as well as practical experience in inclusive teaching.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Create a (living) positioning statement to be shared with students based on critical reflection of own assumptions, biases and beliefsÂ
- Implement opportunities in own teaching and course material to create space for inclusive teaching practicesÂ
- Practice facilitating classroom dialogue and learning activities on identity, power and privilege inclusive of all studentsÂ
